Sempio Ssamjang is a Korean fermented paste made from soybeans, chilli and garlic. It is an integral part of Korean cuisine, especially in grilling. It is used as a sauce for leaf wraps (ssam), but also as a dip or seasoning. It has a rich, spicy-salty flavour with a slightly sweetish undertone.
